TOP TIP…SUNDAY!

Work with what you’ve got and forget about what you haven’t !

Hi everyone!

I’ve not been any good at keeping up with my top tips, but here comes one right now!

Today, it’s a lip-tip! I have really(!) small and fairly thin lips. If you’re lips are the same, forget the awful looking over-drawing with lip liners (it’s truely terrible, sorry Kylie Jenner!), why not try and use what you have?!

Firstly, your lips are naturally sized to fit with all the other parts of your face in perfect proportion, so enlarging them just throws your facial dimensions all out of kilter. Instead, use a high shine lip stick or gloss to emphasis the plumpness of your lips rather than the size?

I use Elizabeth Arden’s Beautiful Colour gloss, in Precious Petal. It’s a good quality, tough cookie of a gloss, that takes a lot to budge! It has a soft pinky peach colour (great for my fair skin) and some really fine sparkles, for a little bit of glam!

I took a before and after pic of me with and without gloss – notice how the light reflecting properties of high gloss really add depth to the lips!

It’s not a great photo but the difference is undeniable!

That’s it for today, my prettiest. In the meantime…

Stay beautiful!

Wonder product! (and another apology….)

Hi beauties!

Sorry to disappear for so long. I’ve had a pretty bad bout of anxiety and panic attacks for the last month and I am just now coming round and starting to feel a little better each day. To anyone who might read this who is suffering with anxiety, especially if like me you’ve never had an anxiety problem before, please let someone know. It’s one of the most curable psychological conditions and you can get so much help from your doctor.

Anyway, I’m back! And I really wanted to start off sharing a great experience I’ve had with an oldie-but-goodie of a product – SunIn!

I was desperate to lighten my colour but without the price tag that’s attached to having it done at the salon, and without the damage that comes with home lightening kits. So, I bought SunIn…for £1.45 from Boots. It’s great! I spray it in twice a week (and have been doing so for the past month) after washing my hair and although the results are very slow to materialise, they are definitely now showing! I’ll add a picture below to show the colour change. I sat in exactly the same place on my sofa and the same time of day to take the picture, and the colour is very accurate to what I see in the mirror.

So, if you’re after gradual, even and natural looking lightening in your hair, then this product is great!

Let me know if you’ve used it before, and what kind of results you got.

As a side note, my hair was a medium auburn colour and is now an caramel-y dark blonde! Perfect!

Stay beautiful!

Sorry for the disappearing act!

Hi everyone!

So sorry to have disappeared over the last fortnight! I’ve been quite ill so have been focusing my energy on relaxing and recovering! The good news is that I’m starting to feel a lot better so I should have another one or two product reviews up this coming week along with another Top Tip Tuesday!

Thanks for bearing with me while I get my act together!

Stay beautiful!

TOP TIP TUESDAY!

Your eyebrows are sisters…not twins!

Avoid the scary, drawn on eyebrows look by NOT trying to match them perfectly in shape, size and consistency. They should look similar, yes, but don’t keep adding and adding product in the hope that they might look identical. Unless you have a perfectly symmetrical face, this is likely to look ridiculous! Concentrate on one brow at a time, filling in gaps, and take a few glances at them both together occasionally to check they’re on the same page!

A general rule of thumb is to always leave the inner ends slightly lighter, as per natural eyebrow growth. They can darken in the arch and towards the ends to get your look as close to nature as possible!

See my product review of No7’s Lash and Brow Perfector – a great product for setting your brows after all the hard work of sculpting them!
